2023 Career connect conference

The 2023 Career Connect Conference is back in person for the first time since 2019! This event is happening April 27th at the Pendleton Convention Center

This event serves juniors and senior students of Umatilla and Morrow County an opportunity to see first-hand career possibilities - right here in their own backyard.

The Eastern Oregon Career Expo is free to attend for both employers and students. For those businesses and organizations joining in-person, amenities include:                          

  • One 8-foot table and two chairs
  • Wireless internet access
  • Assistance with loading in/out of the venue as needed

Before the Expo:

  • Come to this page frequently to view current Expo employers.
  • Research employers you are considering.
  • Prepare and/or update your general resumé.
  • Practice your pitch and questions.
  • Keep your day as free as possible to have a stress-free time at the event.
  • Dress for success!

During the Expo:

  • Remember: employers are already interviewing as you speak!
  • Plan to have quality conversations with potential employers.
  • Network: make contacts for now and later.
  • Record all contact names, titles and contact information for follow-up conversations.

After the Expo:

  • Follow up with employers.
  • Explore company profiles and relevant job listings.
  • Network with other students or alumni that have worked for the employers that you are interested in.
  • Respond to employer’s inquiries or messages.
  • Revise your resumé.
  • Apply for active job openings.
